Returning Research to the Community: Conversations
Addressing Trauma and Violence.
This
one-day conference was geared towards professionals
working with children, adults and families exposed to
trauma. In partnership with the Denver
Victim Services Network,
we received generous funding from the
University of Denver's
Public Good Fund for this event.
The
2005 conference opened with comments from
Steve Siegel (Denver
District Attorney's Office) and Dr. Gizane Indart
(Executive Director,
Denver Children's Advocacy Center). Research
talks were presented by
Anne DePrince,
Ann Chu,
Daniel McIntosh,
Heather Taussig, and
Stephen Shirk. Dr. Jerry Yager (Executive
Director,
Denver Children's Home) provided clinical commentary
on the research talks. A poster session during
lunch allowed attendees to talk with researchers from
the TSS Group, as well as our colleagues at
Arapahoe House and the University of
Colorado-Colorado Springs. |

Dr. Gizane
Indart kicks off the day.

Dr. Danny
McIntosh speaks about community traumas.
