Community Information: Events

The TSS Group, directed by Anne P. DePrince, Ph.D., is dedicated to building and maintaining partnerships with community and system agencies.  We are deeply grateful for the support and collaboration of Denver-area agencies, without whom we could not do this work!

TSS Group Events are designed to share new research findings with our community and system partners, as well as to hear about the research needs of our partner agencies working on violence-related issues.  Below please find information about past events.

Please check back here regularly for announcements of new events!

Returning Research to the Community: Conversations Addressing Trauma and Violence.

This one-day conference was geared towards professionals working with children, adults and families exposed to trauma.  In partnership with the Denver Victim Services Network, we received generous funding from the  University of Denver's Public Good Fund for this event.

The 2005 conference opened with comments from Steve Siegel (Denver District Attorney's Office) and Dr. Gizane Indart (Executive Director, Denver Children's Advocacy Center).  Research talks were presented by Anne DePrince, Ann Chu, Daniel McIntosh, Heather Taussig, and Stephen Shirk.  Dr. Jerry Yager (Executive Director, Denver Children's Home) provided clinical commentary on the research talks.  A poster session during lunch allowed attendees to talk with researchers from the TSS Group, as well as our colleagues at Arapahoe House and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

Dr. Gizane Indart kicks off the day.

Dr. Danny McIntosh speaks about community traumas.

Dr. Stephen Shirk discusses treatment.

Kristin Weinzierl discusses research during the poster session.
