Welcome!
My research focuses on links between
violence against women and children, distress, and
information processing. I am particularly interested in
contributing to our understanding of (and ultimately,
effective intervention for) long-term risk associated with
violence exposure, such as revictimization. My research
draws on multiple methodologies (e.g., laboratory cognitive
tasks, clinical interviews, survey methodology), as well as
theories from diverse psychological perspectives.
I direct the
Traumatic
Stress Studies Group, which involves post-doc,
graduate and undergraduate researchers. We collaborate
with colleagues in Denver and worldwide. We
pursue several lines of research with
both children and adults.
I completed my doctoral training at
the
University of Oregon
and my clinical internship at the
University of Washington School of Medicine. I am a
licensed clinical psychologist in
Colorado.
I hope you find these pages
useful to learn more about the work we do in the Traumatic
Stress Studies Group.
