Bio:
Born in 1989 in Denver, Colorado, Antonio started singing, acting and composing in high school, and these became his career interests, taking him to begin his undergraduate studies at the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver as a Vocal Performance major.
As a singer, Antonio has experience singing rock and roll with his band The Flapjacks at various venues around the Denver area, and has studied with John Van Epps, Beverley Fernald, and Catherine Kasch in refining his vocal skills for opera.
As an actor, Antonio’s experience includes the Lakewood High School productions of Inherit the Wind, South Pacific, Guys and Dolls, and he appeared as Gaston in Beauty and the Beast. His college shows so far at DU include The Talking Bird and Into the Woods. In addition, he won the Judges Showcase in Solo Musical Theatre Award at the 2006 Colorado Thespian Conference.
Antonio studied composition with Mark Harris while in high school, and two of his pieces earned the highest grade of 1 at the Jefferson County Solo and Ensemble Festival. Recently one of his pieces was chosen and performed by the DU faculty ensemble: The Playground.
