As a current Junior at the Lamont School of Music, Alexander has served as a principal violinist in the Lamont Symphony Orchestra, working under the direction of Linda Wang. His teachers have included names such as Hungarian virtuoso Ference Illenyi and Eugenia Alikhanova, 1st Violinist of the Moscow String Quartet.

In 2010, Alexander won first prize in the Denver Philharmonic's concerto competition, first prize in the Aurora Symphony's concerto competition, and Honorable Mention in the Lamont School of Music's Solo Honors competition. In 2009, he took first prize at Aspen's Symphony in the Valley concerto competition and second prize in the Aurora Symphony concerto competition. Alexander has
participated in the Summit Music Festival alongside musicians from around the world for the past 4 years At the SMF, he was accepted into the studios of the great chamber violinist Mikhail Kopelman of the Eastman School of Music, and the legendary Starling Chair in Violin Studies at the Curtis Institute of Music, Aaron Rosand.

Alexander has been teaching for seven years with students of all ages. His students have received principal positions in local and school orchestras and have received prizes in several local youth competitions.
