Biography____________________________________________
Amra Tomsic, (born 1984), is a classically trained performing Lyric Tenor and accompanist. He is a passionate teacher of voice, vocal pedagogy, basic to intermediate theory and piano, not to mention an aspiring conductor and musical director.
Amra has been cast in many operatic roles including Borsa, (Crested Butte Music Festval), and the Duke of Mantua (DU) in Rigoletto, The Magician (DU) in Menotti’s Consul, Ramiro (DU) in Rossini’s Cenerentola, Fenton (DU) in Verdi’s Falstaff, Belmonte (DU) in Mozart’s Die Entfuhrung, Tim (DU) in Menotti’s Help! Help! The Globolinks, Florville (DU) in Rossini’s Il Signor Bruschino, and Don Jose (DU) in Bizet’s Carmen.
Amra has accompanied musicians of almost every instrument and was the sole accompanist at Western State College for jury hearings and many performances while he attended. He finds true passion and pride in teaching others to sing and has been doing so privately for four years. He hopes, in addition to performing operatic tenor roles around the world, to someday be an opera conductor and maestro.
Amra Tomsic is currently receiving his Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and is quickly pursuing a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance as well, both while at the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music.
