  • Resolving Conflict in the Workplace
Understanding and learning how to effectively manage conflict in the workplace can be a challenging process. How much of your time during any given day do you spend trying to avoid or fix a conflict situation rather than addressing the day-to-day tasks, you need to complete?

For some, dealing with and managing conflict situations are critical parts of your day-to-day responsibilities. If you are a manager or supervisor, you are often required to intervene and help resolve problems between co-workers, peers and probably, on occasion, with your own supervisor.

Conflict in the workplace can range from a minor irritation, where someone is “upset”, to out of control anger and even rage.

This workshop provides the opportunity to learn some important insights about you. You will learn about the “triggers” that can lead you into conflict situations. You will learn about the “rules” and “values” you use that influence how you define and manage conflict. You will also evaluate actual conflict situations in which you are currently involved.  Most importantly, you will learn, with these newfound insights, how to more effectively manage and reduce the negative consequences associated with your conflict situations.

Former Projects

  • Computerization of the Medical Record
The medical record is the place where health care providers coordinate care and communicate about treatment. The Veterans Administration is largest health care provider in the world. It is in the process of converting the medical record from paper to electronic. The electronic medical record will connect every VA Medical Center in the country into a single record. This will allow providers to obtain treatment information about a patient from anywhere in the country. This will improve the quality of care above any other single organization in the world.
  • Supervision of Doctoral level students
The Veterans Administration has trained more psychologists than any other single agency in the world. The Denver VA is very committed to providing the highest quality training to both pre-internship and internship level students. Ask any former Resident or Practicum student what they think about the training and supervision provided.
