All the questions below are to be answered using the University of Denver's Classic catalog interface: http://catalog.du.edu/. In other words, do NOT use the Encore interface unless requested. Some of the questions also ask you to use our Encore NextGen catalog: http://lib-lakshmi.cair.du.edu/

1. Provide an analysis of searchable fields in Encore versus searchable fields in Classic Peak.

2. Provide your own analysis of when you would recommend that a users search Classic Peak, and when you would recommend Encore.

3. A library user is looking for the number of telephones in use in the United States for the time period between 1900 and 1910.

a) Suggest a search strategy using Peak Classic (not Encore). Don't focus on the answer, but on the search process.

b) Suggest a search strategy using Encore (Keyword Beta)

4. Someone calls you on the phone and wants a book. But all he knows is that the author is "Jones", the word "development" is in the title, and that it is published in Japan. Give the full name of this Jones.
