Assignment One: Due
1. Select either Superintendent of Documents, Library of Congress, or the Dewey classification system for “your library.” Defend your selection. Give pros and cons to your choice.
2. Spend two hours playing around with Chris Brown’s Browse the Government Documents Stacks project, also known as the “Andriot” project. Just certify that you have spent 2 hours on this question.
3. Using the University Library Catalog, find 40 online government documents. List the 40 SuDocs numbers for each of the ones you find.
Pick a research question. Search the Penrose Library Catalog (either the Classic Catalog - http://catalog.du.edu/ or Encore - http://lib-lakshmi.cair.du.edu/) and see if you find online govdocs related to your question. You will need to view the docs to place them into categories.

Help on categories: consumer publication; map; congressional report; congressional hearing; executive agency publication; research report; annual report; manual; court report; legal opinion; statistical publication; census publication; administrative issuance; and many others. You can make up a category if none of these work. I just want you to think about categories of federal publications.
