1. Using AmericanFactFinder, find the most recent household income for Denver County. Data should be from the 2000 decennial census.

6. You are being asked to perform some market research for a client interested in opening a car wash in the zip code around DU (80210).

a) Find the NAICS Code for car washes:

c) Use County Business Patterns to find out how many other car washes there are in the 80210 zip code for each of the years, 1994-2005.

d) What areas around DU (near the 80210 zip code) seem to have the most car washes? Hint: here is a handy Denver zip code map:

e) Since this will be a high-end car wash, your client needs to locate higher income areas around DU. Use American Factfinder to figure out which zip codes would be best for targeted mailings.

f) Using "thematic maps" produce a map that shows where families within the 80210 zip code tend to live who make more than $100K per year. (AFF Main -> Data Sets -> Thematic Maps). Put the map and the legend into your homework.
