Colin Thurmond, guitarist and composer

Classical guitarist Colin Thurmond is renowned for his superb musicianship and inspired artistry, having earned praise from audiences and critics alike. In recognition of his great talent and magical performances, he was given a scholarship to study with one of the world's preeminent guitar pedagogues, Ricardo Iznaola at the Lamont School of Music.

In March of 2006 Thurmond was awarded top honors in the University of Denver Chamber Competition. Thurmond firmly established himself as one of Colorado's top young guitarists when the Lamont School of Music bestowed their highest honor on him; an invitation to perform at the Lamont Showcase in May of this year.
