Pomegranate Milkshake

Pomegranate juice is now available in Denver. It comes in 450 ml bottles of a curious shape that are rather expensive. Pomegranates have a wonderful flavor, but I was put off by all the seeds, since normally you have to eat the seeds to get the juice, and I did not want pomegranate trees growing in my bowels. The juice is a great delicacy, somthing like grape juice, but with a more educated taste.

I found a pomegranate milkshake to be delicious. To make one, take about a cup of vanilla ice cream and half a bottle of pomegranate juice. This will make a thick milkshake with a drinks mixer; add some milk if you like. I use a regular drinks mixer from Hamilton Beach, but I suppose a blender would work as well, or even actually mixing it around with a spoon and shaking it in jar--however you make such drinks will be satisfactory.

The taste of a pomegranate milkshake is right up there with pinapple-coconut juice. A similar drink can be made with orange juice, as you probably already know.

The website at www.pomwonderful.com is vicious with cookies, unfortunately, but apparently you can buy juice their if you enable cookies and probably open yourself to crass promotion.
