Profile processing:

on the top is a typical "raw" data profile

in the middle is the same profile after the background noise has been removed

on the bottom is the profile after the "tails" of the hyperbolas have been removed.  Now we are ready to process these profiles into slices!

Here is a series of slice maps showing on the left the maps that have only the background removed, and on the right the same data set with the tails removed.  See how on the top slice, the removal of the tails has really "cleaned up" the image.  The map on the left is incorrect, because it was only mapping the tails, and not the source of the actual reflections!
