Tiffinni
Halka graduated from high school in 1998 and attended Eastern Washington
University in Cheney Washington where she studied under Judy James for 4
years. During her time at EWU she held the principal position in both
the wind ensemble and Symphony orchestra. Other ensembles that she
played in include EWU honors Brass Quintet, EWU honors Wood wind
quintet, The Spokane Jazz Orchestra, EWU Horn Quartet and contemporary
ensemble. She then taught at St. Joseph’s catholic school in Kennewick
Washington for 2 years where she was the instructor of elementary music
and middle school art. Tiffinni was also the director of the SJS
children’s choir while she was teaching at SJS. During this time
Tiffinni held the 4th horn chair in the Mid Columbia Symphony and 2nd
horn position in the Mid Columbia Harmonia. Tiffinni is now studying at
the Lamont School of Music in pursuit of her undergraduate degree in
horn performance. After graduation she will be looking into getting her
masters degree in ensemble conducting, hopefully at DU.
