Tiffinni Halka graduated from high school in 1998 and attended Eastern Washington University in Cheney Washington where she studied under Judy James for 4 years. During her time at EWU she held the principal position in both the wind ensemble and Symphony orchestra. Other ensembles that she played in include EWU honors Brass Quintet, EWU honors Wood wind quintet, The Spokane Jazz Orchestra, EWU Horn Quartet and contemporary ensemble.  She then taught at St. Joseph’s catholic school in Kennewick Washington for 2 years where she was the instructor of elementary music and middle school art. Tiffinni was also the director of the SJS children’s choir while she was teaching at SJS. During this time Tiffinni held the 4th horn chair in the Mid Columbia Symphony and 2nd horn position in the Mid Columbia Harmonia. Tiffinni is now studying at the Lamont School of Music in pursuit of her undergraduate degree in horn performance. After graduation she will be looking into getting her masters degree in ensemble conducting, hopefully at DU.
