Goal IV: Attain Technological Leading Edge
GSSW is a model for professional graduate schools in the use of technology to achieve excellent teaching/learning programs and in linking them to the community in order to improve the quality of services and service delivery systems.
Objectives
Develop a faculty approved plan for technology development in FY2000 that recognizes the situation and environment of GSSW.

Faculty receive and approve a technology plan in their January 2000 meeting.

Faculty vote.
Initiate a process of faculty and staff development in FY2000 that results in a level of competency that supports the technology plan.

Faculty/staff are able to participate in the Website by posting pages in areas of administration/research/teaching
Faculty/staff are provided group instruction

Assess students as to their technological level at the beginning of their program; students graduate with knowledge of appropriate technological implementation and where it can be applied in social work practice.

Student survey completed and analyzed - results compared to past surveys. Survey results indicate increases in competence.
Student exit evaluations indicate knowledge of appropriate technology implementation in social work practice.
Data Collection
A baseline measure of student skills based on the Iowa Technology Inventory is completed in the first quarter of their experience here.
A post-test is completed near the end of the student experience
Student exit evaluation includes appraisal of technology area.
