#1. Missing data and bias in parameter estimates

Abstract:

This study addressed item nonresponse, with a focus on multiple imputation (MI) and maximum likelihood (ML). Based on simulated data with four different proportions of missingness (10-40%), the researcher compared the bias found with MI and ML. Differences between these two techniques in bias in parameter estimation are summarized.

#2. PhotoVoice - Participatory Action Research

Abstract:

During recent years, university students' learning efficiency became a focal topic that has raised much attention. An increasing number of quantitative research studies investigated various learning types by looking at ease of use, perceived learning, and user satisfaction (Stricker, Weibel, & Wissmath, 2011). This qualitative study will explore students’ learning efficiency at the university level. The purpose of this research is to characterize students’ learning habits when they study in a public area and their internal perceptions of outside distractions. Photovoice is a type of arts-based action research method where participants are asked to photograph their environment and circumstances. Through photovoice, three observations and two interviews were conducted to collect qualitative data. The results indicate that students believe their study efficiency is high while studying in a common area. They also point out that students have different strategies for managing interruptions.
